Featured in the documentary The Town That Was, Centralia, PA was a community of around 1000 people in the year 1981. A fire ignited in the 1960s managed to work its way into the abandoned coal mine tunnels beneath the city. Eventually residents had to move. In 2010, the population had dropped to just ten people.
Most of the homes have been removed by this point, along with buildings.
